Fr. Michael Trummer, a priest of the Diocese of Springfield in Illinois, was ordained on the Feast of the Sacred Heart in June of 2020. He pursued his theological education at Bishop Simon Bruté College Seminary and Kenrick-Glennon Seminary, where he deepened his love for the Catholic faith, especially through the insights of apologetics. His journey to priesthood led him to transfer from studying chemistry at Eastern Illinois University to entering seminary alongside his brother Fr. Christopher in January of 2014. Fr. Michael serves as a priest of the Catholic Churches of Forty Martyrs, St. John the Baptist, and Sacred Heart in Tuscola, IL area.
In his leisure time, Fr. Michael delves into readings on Catholic spirituality, psychology, and self-improvement, which led to him co-founding the Normal Christian Life podcast with Fr. Christopher. A lover of music, he plays the violin and guitar whenever time allows. With a penchant for languages, Fr. Michael is always looking to improve his Spanish for Hispanic ministry, and is currently dabbling in French for fun. Driven by his vocation, Fr. Michael is passionate about promoting regular Eucharistic Adoration and Confession while nurturing and discerning charisms among the laity. He aspires to remain open to the guidance of the Holy Spirit in his ministry and personal journey as a priest.
