Essential Prayers for Inner Healing
*These prayers need to be said out loud, even if just a soft voice.
Prayer of Forgiveness
"In the name of Jesus, I forgive and release [name of person] for [what he/she did] (be specific)." (extended version) - Jesus I surrender him/her to you and ask you to be the judge. I commit from this point on to not dwell on this hurt anymore, and I choose not to identify him/her with his/her sins and mistakes."
Prayer of Renouncing Judgments
"Lord, I acknowledge that my perceptions of [name of person] are not loving. [Name the specific judgements—and be real with the negative ways you view this person. In the name of Jesus Christ, and by the power of his precious blood, I now renounce these judgements [name each judgment] toward [name of person]. I ask you now to free me to see [name of person] the way you see him/her and to bless him/her now. Please forgive me for holding this person in contempt and losing sight of his/her dignity."

Lord, I ask you to forgive us both for sinning against you and each other. Please release us each to live in the freedom of the Holy Spirit."
*Note on Prayers of Renunciation
Not every negative emotion we experience is a spiritual attack, but sometimes an evil spirit can be behind them; we don’t always know if something is just physical and psychological and/or spiritual. These prayers are important to use when a lie, negative emotion, or negative thinking pattern has a deeper effect or hold on us.
Use HDR prayer: (1) Regularly pay attention to what is happening in your heart. (2) Discern if a thought, feeling, or movement is from the Enemy. (3) Reject and renounce any negative response patterns and lies from the Enemy. Any time you experience a problem, reflect upon it and identify any lies you might believe which are underlying the problem.
Examples: "In the name of Jesus: I renounce the spirit of hopelessness; the lie that things will never change for the better; the lie that God doesn't care. In the name of Jesus: I renounce the fear of disappointing others; the fear of missing out; the fear of failure.
*Notes on Prayers of Breaking a Vow and Soul Tie
Whenever we have a negative interaction with someone, it is easy for us to form judgements. It is important to forgive someone who wrongs us, but it is also important we renounce any judgements that we make. Example: Your friend doesn't listen to you when you have problems, but expects you to listen to his/her problems. "In the name of Jesus, I renounce the judgment towards [name of friend] that he/she is selfish and doesn't care about anyone but him/herself." The prayer of breaking soul ties is used less than the other prayers. Use it when you feel there is an unhealthy attachment to another person e.g., you cannot stop thinking about them or are overly concerned with what they think about you.
